Spotify has transformed the lives of musicians and podcasters, and now it’s expanding into the world of audiobooks. We partnered with Spotify to create a sub-brand that uniquely engages a new audience of authors and publishers while maintaining a strong connection to it’s primary brand identity.
Typography serves as a visual anchor in the highly expressive Spotify brand system.
We use Spotify’s main typeface, Spotify Mix in varying weights. This allows us to maintain consistency with the main brand, while remaining flexible for various use cases.
The Spotify for Authors color palette is designed to balance deep, mature shades with moments of vibrancy.
Beyond our key portraits and capture essence images we strive to further editorialize our authors. Pairings on images can help do more work in storytelling than a single and aid us in our more editorial layouts.
Graphic Treatments
The visual system features three distinct graphic treatments. Abstracted UI Elements are strategically placed to preview different parts of the experience through fragmented interface components. Catalog Tiles form a monochromatic, grid-like pattern used purely as a graphic device. The Reverb treatment features a sharply focused central image, surrounded by duplicated, progressively blurred versions of itself to create a sense of motion and depth.
Utilizing our photography and graphic elements, we can create content that showcases Spotify's core values for authors: our catalog, our authors, our curation of what's new and noteworthy, and our digital experiences for both authors and consumers.
